Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment option that uses high-energy sound waves to promote healing and alleviate pain in various parts of the body. It has gained popularity in recent years for its effectiveness in treating a range of musculoskeletal conditions, including plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, and chronic back pain.

During the treatment, a handheld device is used to deliver high-energy sound waves to the affected area. This causes microtrauma to the tissues, which triggers the body's natural healing response. It also stimulates blood flow and the production of collagen, a protein that helps to strengthen and repair damaged tissues.

The procedure typically takes 15 minutes and is performed on an outpatient basis. Patients may experience some discomfort during the treatment, but this is usually mild and short-lived. They may also experience some soreness or stiffness in the treated area for a few days after the procedure, but this should resolve on its own.

Overall, shockwave therapy is a safe and effective treatment option for many musculoskeletal conditions. It is particularly useful for those who have not responded to other forms of treatment or who wish to avoid surgery or long-term use of medications.
